[Lowfer] Coil & Variometer setup???

It's not a Johnson unit by any chance? I had a number of them here 
(complete with dog box) I acquired surplus some years ago but all have 
found good homes in the amateur LF community. They had a tuning 
variometer around a third of the way up the coil and there was a 
separate coupling variometer that it sat on-latter only had a few 
turns on the fixed and rotary coils. The main coil was around 800-900 
microhenries and made of flat copper strip - the coil was around 10 
inches diameter.
