Jay plus other /5 followers,

'Days' too!

Thanks to all for returning a view of my signal and to those that reported hearing or seeing it. This 500K prop is so much different than at 185K. I suppose it pretty much follows what I have been experiencing all my life when listening to distant AM broadcast stations. Jay, thanks for sending the audio clip but I still can't listen to it. Now I'm in the local college library and there is no sound on this computer - but at least the space bar works :)

Also, I can't get used to the caution needed to insure nobody gets zapped from the antenna. You Hams know this all too well but I've never run at power levels I would consider to be lethal. Some neighbors showed up this morning that could have used the trail that passes under the 5ft high lower section of the loop but luckily took the road, instead. I'll have to slip a piece of a garden hose over it at that point.

I'm still running at 32w and will continue to operate there for the short term because I remembered there is a good chance that the tuning capacitor in the transmitter box will arc over if I go much beyond that level. Will correct the situation on the next rip up. Plan to continue to send 24/7 at 512.29K until further notice.
