[Lowfer] Chirped Hell QSO Tonight

Several comments have been made on the hauntingly beautiful Hell signals
that Jay has been sending on 506.50. They are nicely visible on an Argo
NDB screen (or something similar in Spectran or Spectrum Lab). Realizing
that we have never actually had a 2-way contact in this souped-up mode,
we will give it a try tonight at 0100 UTC. Jay will be on his usual
506.500, and I will be 100 Hz higher so that the stations may be easily
identified.

For the curious, this signal is generated with the "QRSS 1 Chirped Hell"
mode in Spectrum Lab. By jacking the symbol rate up to 10.5,
good-looking text results on the Argo NDB screens. Note that the Chirped
Hell modes require linear PA's, and the power output swings considerably
as the characters are shaped by amplitude (as well as the usual
frequency) modulation.
