Hey everybody !! hope you're having a great summer so far; Here's an update on my LOWfer parts kits:
I only have 2 parts kits left, However I can scrounge up the parts for 4 more kits if I get enough requests for them. Contact me by email as soon as possible, if you want to order one. They're easy to build, and work like they're supposed to, when you get all the parts values right. This is an inexpensive way to build your first LOWfer transmitter, or a standby unit
I am offering ( at a very small cost ) to anyone who needs them, some basic parts for a Lyle Kohler design LOWfer transmitter. The parts kit will include the Non-Common parts that you can't run down to the local Radio Shack store and pickup. The cost is $ 10.00 ,Plus $ 2.00 for shipping, ( U.S. of course ).
The kit includes the following parts.
1 - Epson SG531, 4 pin, Dip-8 + 5 volt Oscillator chip, Clock Frequency is 1.8432 MHz
1 - M74HC4017 Johnson decade counter +5 volt chip Dip-16 ( divide by 10 ). This will put the Epson oscillator at 184.320KHz +/- 1 cycle, very stable frequency output
1 - LM7805 3 pin +5volt Regulator @ 1.5 amps
2 - 2N2222ATAR ,and /2 - 2N2907 transistors, 1 set plus a spare set of finals.
3 - 8 pin IC Sockets for easy replacement of Osc. and Counter chips. 2 of the 8 pin sockets are placed end to end to make a 16 pin socket
2 - 3 pin transistor sockets for the finals. Makes replacement much quicker when finals blow out
NOTE: All the parts are brand new, and I checked each oscillator to make sure it works. None of these are junk box specials.
With this parts kit, and a trip to Radio Shack, ( and probably your junk box ), You can put together a nice LOWfer transmitter for this winter monitoring season.
73, and enjoy building: Andy - KU4XR
