Zack,

Thief! <g> Guess there's only so much creativity that can be had with 
PVC. One way or the other you wind up with a big white cross and very 
curious neighbors...

The box in that picture has a board with eight small relays that switch 
in capacitors of 50, 100, 200, 400, etc. pF, allowing me to remote tune 
the loop. The only other component is a 1:2 transformer to couple the 
series-tuned loop to the line. The preamp is in the shack. I've had a 
project on the books for years to put a bigger box there with a 
motor-driven variable, but just have never gotten around to it.

Some of the information needs updating, but isn't too misleading. I 
don't have a picture of the whole loop, as it visually gets lost in the 
trees. Parts of it are easy enough to spot in the winter, though.
