[Lowfer] TS450 BC Band mod didn't work !!

Well guys; my project weekend turned out to be a bust.
Evidently the TS850S and the TS450S are not identical
electrically. I did the 850 mod to bypass the BC Band
atten. but all I gained was about 1-1/2 S-units,
certainly not a 24+ dB gain, and the mod dropped
everything from 499KHz down to the attenuated level.
Evidently it tied the 2 circuits together. ( Big
Disappointment ). Even tried reading the microscopic
schematic in the service manual and bypassing a few
resistors, but all it did was make the bandwidth so
wide that listening to the BC Band was like hearing 3
stations at a time. Ended up undoing all the mods
tried, and putting it back original. Wasted a lot of
time, but got to heat up the soldering iron. ( Love
that smell of flowing solder ).
