[Lowfer] Government Mandated Noise ???

Hello Lowfers,

I've been using the CFL's here for a number of years and have
had no interence problems. As one of the other fellows found
out, I've had to bring a portable set quite close to them before
hearing any "noise".

As to their light output, the Philips 13 watt ones that I use here
put out a lot of light. In the kitchen/computer/radio room I had
been using six regular 60 watt bulbs and when I replaced them
with CFL's I cut the power used down to 25% of previous and
had easily twice the amount of light.

Some of my original bulbs are still going strong after six years
of service. I made sure to only use them where they are on
for hours at a time. Don't put them in closets for example, as
I expect that the number of on-off cycles is what actually will
limit their life span.

Waiting for LED's to come down in price.
