Using that big loop now. Almost 2 months that thing sat as a bird roost as I couldn't get a signal from it.
Thought it was in the feedline, then the transformers, then I found a wiring fault, a short. But still nothing worked. Today I found and corrected the real problem, a bad solder joint to the no. 28 wire on the coupling torride - no actual contact.

Lot of stuff coming thru that bugger now. Warren's 506 signal was the first this afternoon, /2.

Running on 505.25kc tonight as the SWR is way high up higher in the 
band. Ice and a huge now frozen puddle near the antenna detuning it, but 
it works good enough at this lower freq.
