Ted,

It might be worth trying 2:14 to see if the amplifier readings more 
closely match those when running on the 50 ohm dummy load. That probably 
won't make much (if any) difference on the air, but it would nail things 
down a bit.

As noted in the article, the calibration of the homebrew meter compares 
well to that of a 20A thermocouple meter. Don't worry too much about not 
having an antenna meter, though. It would probably only just confirm the 
conclusions we've already reached.

It would be interesting to see if someone more to your north (or south) 
could copy the signal.
