    Sounds like something may be seriously wrong with your setup, Jay consistently gets reports of being very loud in Northeast Ohio just south of you.
Here's a report from last KN8AZN last night:
"WE2XGR/2 is very very strong here now. It takes about 40 dB of 
attenuation to keep him from desensing my receiver!"

    What antenna are you using for 500?  Is it possible that your rig switches in an attenuator in the broadcast band that affects 500 kHz? 

     Also - Dave WD2XSH/17 are you hearing him? He is often good cw copy into Europe.
