Hi Laurence,
I don't know what your time difference from USA is, maybe you're fast asleep
during the 1300-1400 utc time. But I seem to see BPC going off sometime
after about 1315 and 1355 utc. This Sunday morning, BPC was strong when I
first checked at 1240 utc. I checked again at 1255 and it was still strong.
At the 1330 utc check it was gone. Sitting on the frequency, it abruptly
came on about 1355 (somewhere between 1355 and 1356 utc).
Is it possible you could monitor it from about 1300-1400 utc and perhaps see
if you hear it going off at some point, and then coming back on?
Sunrise has not occurred yet here on West Coast USA (Northeast Oregon), so
any effects from that should not be causing what I'm observing on BPC.
40kc JJY is always stronger than BPC, but this morning around 1240 utc, the
two were about the same level--the first time I've observed BPC so strong
compared to JJY.
Thanks for any additional information you can shed on this, being much
closer to BPC than I am.
