Steve,

CW mode should be fine, and the receiver frequency setting should be OK 
for that mode. Spectran should be set up to see the audio frequency 
corresponding to the receiver's BFO pitch. You can check that by tuning 
in known frequencies on the receiver, such as WWVB or AM broadcast signals.

But even with all of that done correctly, I doubt that you would be able 
to see TAG during the daytime from your QTH. You do stand a chance at 
night, particularly in the pre-dawn hours. Perhaps you could run screen 
captures overnight and see what happens.

I will be running WD2XES tonight starting around 8 PM EDT on 137.779 kHz 
with considerably more power from central MA. It should be visible on a 
QRSS30 screen. WD2XES and WD2XNS will have their regular weekly CW QSO 
on that frequency at 9 PM EDT for a half-hour or so. We usually work in 
the 15-20 wpm range, so that would be a little more challenging.
