Last night I was copying the WOLF transmission from XES. I was wondering
what the signal would look like with ARGO. Tried the 30 second dot mode &
didn't see anything at all. Then I did a bit of reading about how WOLF
works. Seems that due to its modulation scheme, the sidebands can be really
wide ... up to 10 Hz wide! So I ran ARGO in the 20 secod dot ... AHHHA!
There is something there to be seen after all. It's almost like the noise
floor is modified rather then there really being a signal there. But
whatever it is, it's about 10 Hz wide. Some of these narrow band modes are
absolutely amazing ... especially WOLF, requiring sub hertz accuracy. I can
remember when 200 - 500 hertz drift per hour was considered really good. I
never thought we would be resolving things down to less then a single cycle.
