Sorry to hear about your antenna problems. At least wire antennas are cheaper to repair than Yagis.
Woke up this morning to the first big ice since I put the Marconi up last year. Went out at 0530 to
lower the top hat / vertical - weight on the support lines from nearly 1/2 - 3/4 inch ice on the
tophat was pretty impressive. Should add sailboat winches to the towers so I can throw on a couple
wraps and let 'er down without killing my hands!
Thawing started about noon and just got in from hoisting it back up. Other wire antennas survived
without lowering although I bet they're now resonant quite a bit lower in frequency :~)
Good luck on the repair work. Wonder if the MA contingent got ice.
