Stan,

The FCC shares its data on the experimental stations with Mr. Claus 
himself, so I don't expect any snags here.

I tried a 10 and 20 dB drop last night, but you're right -- finer steps 
would be more useful. The trouble is that with the huge swings from 
fading at night, some of this will be masked. Might be a better test for 
the daytime, possibly next weekend.

Joe Taylor appears to be quite happy with the results, and spent the 
evening last night looking at the two signals.

The setup here is a homebrew SSB exciter with 100 mw output into the big 
Hafler amplifier. The exciter is the phasing-type, with a DDS carrier 
generator. A microprocessor with keypad and 2-line display runs the DDS. 
I'll have a little info on the setup on my website this week.
