Jay and I are going to try a cross-band QSO in full duplex tonight. Here
are the details:
Time: 0200 UTC (9 P.M. EST)
WE2XGR/2 on 508.500 kHz
WD2XES on 137.577 kHz
Mode: PSKFEC31 (one of the modes in MultiPSK)
We can each copy the other while our transmitters are on, so there will
be no switchovers. Other than the time delay while MultiPSK encodes and
decodes the signals, we should be able to type back and forth. This sort
of operation might be of value in emergency communications.
WD2XES will beacon in PSKFEC31 on 137.577 kHz before the QSO, starting
around 0000Z. Jay will later advise what he'll be doing on 508.5 kHz.
Note that the weather may change our plans, as a storm is expected for
this evening.
Now you guys can figure a way to copy both ends at the same time, right? <g>
