[Lowfer] counterpoise...

I think it will work decent being elevated but the more the merrier when it
comes to verticals and radials. I run a bit over 3000' of radials in my
yard. They are roughly a 50/50 split between 65' and 135' long and all come
together under the surface and to two 8' long copper pipes driven I the
ground. There are also several 4' copper pipes at the ends of several of the
65' radials and the radial is soldered to these pipes and the whole mess is
buried under the surface. I use this system for any vertical around here. It
appeared that the flattop worked decent last winter over this yard of copper
wire. The downside to all these radials is whenever I dig a hole for
whatever in the yard, I usually have to repair a cut radial from the shovel.
My neighbors thought I was some freaking nut when I laid out the radials and
buried them. I don't believe you have close neighbors so you'll be fine. Hi
hi... Just lay out radials until you get sick and tired of soldering all
those wires together and leave it at that for a while until you get some
wild bug up your behind then add some more.

Have fun!!!

Is 9 ground radials enough? What about 18? These will be roughly 1/4 at
operating frequency and elevated. 9 and 18 divides nicely into my circular
ground plate.
