Mike,
You are doing some fascinating work. I think you are going in the right
direction. I have thought that I was missing a lot on an ARGO screen that
could be seen if displayed properly.
I ran some experiments myself in hardware that suggest some directions to
explore but I am too weak in software to do what you are doing and no longer
have the patience for it anyway.
One experiment I ran was to extract the periodicity or cadence of the
signal.
I built a narrowband filter centered at the repetition rate of the code ID
groups being sent.
HiFER AZ is the most dependable signal in here, so I used his beacon for
testing. I don't remember now what the frequency was, but it was something
like 771 millihertz. I displayed the filter output on a scope and was
surprised to be able to see an indication when it was not nearly visible
with ARGO. I thought that this would be a great extension for a program like
ARGO . Take the detected signal and then reprocess it to show the frequency
components of the already processed signal. It would seem that it would be
ideal for 3D .
