I have published a small paper on a project that has been consuming much of
my winter:

Fleece: Software for the manipulation and 2D or 3D display of Argo data

My short paper demonstrates a sample capture in both 2D and 3D formats with
explanations of why I like 3D and how it may be useful in signal analysis.
