I got a surprise call this evening from Bill, WA8LXJ. He has gotten

LF, and his "XJ" beacon operates in CW mode on 189.15 kHz from near
Cincinnati, OH.

I listened at 10P and again this 7AM but didn't hear XJ. Also tuned for
BOB (closer, abt 100M S), which I heard last month on several nights,
but no luck there.

However, as I usually do when looking for something new like this, I
first check a few low NDBs, notable wad DWI (NC) coming in fb at 10P.
Heard other activity to indicate dx was a possibility.

Other: did see Mike's sig around midnight and at 7A, then it was gone
near 8A.

And: It was 61F at 10P, and the robbins are about announcing spring.
Soon I'll be gathering-in that chicken wire and some 80 radials that
decorate  the back lawn under the T. Roll it up for next season. I'll
then set things up for another round of HiFER. Last year was my first
and I found it fun (influence of HI-HI?).
