Most all of the movies you see in a theatre are running 24 FRAMES per second
with 2 exposures per frame. If there was a reason to think they could get
away with, read save $$, going to 23 frames, they would. Although
mathematically this would seem equivalent to 24Hz lighting, there are two
other issues. The projector illumination is not sinusoidal and there is
"content" to distract your attention. Similar playing nothing thru your
stero and hearing a little bit of hum and then playing some good AC/DC, or
even Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. The hum seems to go away. More an issue
of perception and resolution of the brain-ear subsystem....I'm sure a
spectrum analyzer would still show the same level of hum. In the case of
the incandscent light bulb, there is the thermal time constant of the
filament and how far into "white" they are driven. Early bulbs where much
more yellowish-white than current bulbs. Back 60-70 yrs ago.
