But have some forgot that in past incarnations on this it was resolved
early on not to request explanation from f_c, as it may bring unwanted
attention. So in lieu of particulars from them (that may mean multiple
persons answering differently, a la, a cat chasing its tail) the group
decided (didn't argue beyond a point) that the "15M cylinder rule"
prevailed. The loopers extrapolated that into another geometric shape,
hence the 50X50 perimeter corollary."

	The discussion was already going on before I got my first beacon on the
air back in 1976 and used to talk to the local guys who started the LWCA
and published the Lowdown.  The general opinion then was that hobby
operation was never even considered when the regulations were prepared
and that there was nothing to be gained by stirring up any official
interest in the subject.  Still true.
