400 Hz power is still used in aircraft onboard gear. Makes for much
lighter motors, transformers, etc. The military used to make
extensive use of it in some higher power mobile equipment as well.
I seem to remember hearing back in the '80s there were still
some places on the old Niagra 25 Hz power grid. Anyone know
if that is still the case?
