I expect that if Mike operated a vertical at the same time, we'd see the
same thing that shows up in my simultaneous plots of WEOH, RM and BRO; or
the earlier plots when Mike was using the north-south transmitting loop.
Some of these plots are included in my "software receiver" article at
http://www.qsl.net/k0lr/SW-RX/sw-rx.htm BRO and RM show only a small
amount of variation, probably because the surface-wave term dominates when
I'm not near a null in the transmitting antenna pattern.
My simplistic explanation for why the vertical receiving antenna shows the
least variation in tonight's plots is that it doesn't respond as well as a
loop to signals arriving from high angles.
Multiple-frequency reception isn't too difficult -- the BRO/WEOH/RM plots
were done that way. And I believe Spectrum Lab can display up to 20
"channels" at once. The display gets pretty busy, though...
