Such was not the case for my sister in-law. She lost the site in one eye 
when she looked up to see an arrow just tossed in the air by a playmate. 
Think the suction-cup tip had been removed.

My close call was getting hit by a bee-bee just above the eye in one of 
those mock gun-fights.
