Boils down to which way you define "from" and "to" when shooting. Shoot
from the populated area or neighbor's yard onto your own property, when
necessary.

I've never had much success with that myself. It's too hard to predict how
much drag you'll encounter from leaves and twigs, and/or where the
momentum-deficient arrow will come to rest on a branch and cease its
descent. Better to let it go on over or through and alight on its own,
where possible.
