That would represent a real poor aim, Bob  ----- I mean hitting your toe. 
....and if you hit your toe, don't keep it there! <G>  Seriously, I use 
lower power with this type of shot with much less angle to the horizontal 
(maybe 45deg). I've done this with my home-brew bow a few times and I shoot 
the arrow right through the top section of the pines, not over them. The 
leader and eventual loop wire stay there without sliding out because of the 
nature of the branch structure.

Then of course if that fails the 'catastrophic method' is the preferred 
approach.... and word has it Mike S will soon be heading out with his own 
road-show version of Cat on a Hot Tinned Loop Antenna!

As far as the neighbors are concerned, you have to either be really on good 
terms with them, or be sneaky - that is, be able to predict when they are 
not at home.
