This works FB for me -

1) Pick a dark night.

2) Set up your camera on a tripod aimed upwards at your antenna. The
background behind the antenna should be open sky with no bright lights
in the field of view of the camera. Set the focus to infinity and the
aperture wide open.

3) Set the camera on "Bulb" or time exposure and open the shutter.

4) Using a strobe flash unit, "paint" the antenna with several flashes
of light.

5) Close the shutter.

6) Repeat as necessary until a nice picture is obtained.

If no strobe flash is available, go to the local thrift store and buy an
old 35mm camera that has a built-in flash unit. Stuff a couple of
batteries into it, and flash away. No film needed; just use it for the
flash.
