I thought this was about who had the MESSIEST work area. Some of those
pictures show benches which are disgustingly neat! Good to see the
company I keep and the next time my wife complains I'll show some of
them to her.
Anecdote. As a little kid growing up in a small town in Missouri
(circa 1938) I used to enjoy going to auto repair shops, blacksmiths
shop, etc. I still remember something which seemed perfectly natural at
the time. Every one seemed to have a work bench or two and all were so
covered with junk that only the front few inches were available for
work. Backs of the benches tended to be piled high with stuff which,
from the dust covering it, mustn't have been touched for many years.
Except for the fact that most shops have paved floors now things don't
seem to have changed much!!!!! One thing I miss is the smell of oil
and gasoline on the dirt floor.
