I generally take a listen around 6:30 to 7:00 each morning, at least on
the days when I don't leave for work at 5:45. This morning MP was very
strong at that time, but didn't hear LP or much of anything else. Right
now I'm copying LP very weakly, NW, TIL, RT, GA, MP, and HI.
I'm not sure whether the beam has much gain at that frequency or not,
since the bottom design frequency is 14 MHz, or around 3% higher.
However, as I said it is quieter and does show some directivity, which
might help reduce the background noise. I was copying you very weakly a
few minutes ago (2200 UTC +/-), but nothing right now. What I do
observe bracketing your frequency is a multi-frequency stepping signal
which is generally much stronger but, like LP, shows a lot of QSB and I
can get glimpses of LP when it is absent and vice versa. Any idea what
it is?
