Beginning ~0930UTC Feb 18/04 TIL has a twin operating on 6.777640
MHz(wrt WWV 5Mhz). Both the HiFer on 13.555283MHz (wrt WWV 15Mhz) and
the new BeFer(BetweenFer!?) share the same QRSS3 controller and in fact
the BeFer is HiFer TIL divided by two using a D type flip-flop. Power
output is somewhere around 5mW using clip lead coupling and a lashed
together Chebyshev 5 element lowpass filter using air wound coils (no
toroids in stock today...) ugly yes, but it works...

Now you guys with dual VFOs can have some more fun!

The BeFer antenna is a 44m dipole much like the old 22m dipole; however,
it is 10m off the ground with a north/south favour. There you go Dale!

This time I measured things and the posted freq. are the best I can do
given the means in my shack...

Should be interesting to see the two bands compared at the same time
from the same QTH.

The Hifer is still on the vertical and hours of operation are the same
for both frequencies(they're really one beacon...)

I'll be improving the keying and rebuilding the PCB for the entire
beacon over the next few days.

good hunting...
