"Ed,

What type of antenna are you using to receive?

Larry"

I'm using my triband beam (TH6DXX about 30 years old). I can hear some
of the beacons just about as well with my 50 foot vertical but most come
in a lot better on the beam. Although 13.555 is quite a bit lower than
the center of 20M, the beam still shows directivity.

I haven't used an antenna tuner with either the vertical or the beam to
try to peak up signals, but my impression is that the beam is
significantly better than the vertical. I wouldn't be surprised if a
horizontal dipole would work as well as the beam, but don't plan to set
one up because space is limited.
