Larry,
To be more specific:
My method uses unnecessary hardware but it was a quick and easy way for
me to get started. I used a RS422 to RS232 Black Box converter. The
Z3801A's 1 pps output on the DB25 port, pins 9 and 17 connect to the
send data pins of the converter. This converter has a DB37 connector
and the pins are 4 and 22 with 19 as sig ground. The converted signal
is then taken from the Black Box RS232 DB25 connector pin 2 and fed into
the computer com port Ring Indicator pin which is pin 9 on a DB9
connector. Initially I had a positive going pulse. I reversed the
RS422 polarity by switching the A and B send data pins. That produced a
nice negative approximately 25 us pulse which seems to work well with
Africam.
