[Lowfer] Has anybody tried...

George Heron, N2APB? My thought is surprise at getting such quick response
the first time or two ;-) It is an all volunteer operation and I believe
last week end was their monthly get together with some new whiz-bang kit
being shown to the masses for the first time. Forget what it was (obviously
had no appeal to me ;-) but it was simultaneous with the NORCAL whiz-bang
40M receiver kit and they were touting a "Super Sunday" (or was it Saturday
;-) yada yada yada. So I suspect troops in the trenches were not their
normal, efficient selves the last week or so. Just a guess...I am an
outsider in Southern California who wouldn't go to the meeting if it was
held in the club house of my complex here in Huntington Beach<G>

As for the integrity of the operation, I'd say you are much more likely to
have your letter fall down behind a desk at the PO and be delivered 50 years
later, like the penny postcard that was postmarked 1947 and got delivered a
few years ago, than be ripped off by George and the group. But like almost
all volunteer operations, things are herky-jerky and projections made on
good intentions, etc, etc. But quality and prices are very good from this
group. I have gotten several kits, including the DDS board, looked at all
of them, built none yet ;-) I too am full of good intentions and kind of
hery-jerky getting things done<G>.
