Actually, we can get a foot or two from a lake effect snow. But usually it
is about 6 inches. and it packs down quickly.

The big problem with them is that they usually cause white-outs. We can have
a beautiful sunny day when suddenly a cloud shows up like very dense fog and
when it is gone (an hour later) you have beautiful skies and 4 to 6 new
inches of fluffy stuff.
