Hey Bill,
The finals are I the same socket as the Epson so they warm things up a bit
for Mr. Epson which makes the freq go up when warm and down to normal for
the shorter duration dots. I tried a fan on there once and it really made
for a roller coaster ride look on the Grabber!!! Oh well, this is only
temporary until the car project gets done then the beaconing will be a rare
occasion for me at any power level above a couple of watts.
I had to install two springs on the loop as the thunderstorm winds were
trying to tear the tuner box apart. I slackened the loop a bit and let the
springs take the jolt of the wire whipping from those smaller east side
branches way the heck up there. The loop goes slack and then tightens up
fast in strong winds. It didn't even stretch though before the springs were
installed. Chock that up to one fine installation by the Loop Master
himself.
Oh yea, 87F here today with some nasty thunderstorms predicted in the coming
hours.
Mike

Mike, why would that power level of yours make for the distinctive FM
waviness on the Xmtr's output? Is this Doppler effect, maybe?
Lewis, is the noise low and are the same signals there again tonight? If so,
Mike shut her down for 15min.
I'm noting weird prop on the Grabulator tonight. Very weak Ws and stronger
Ms appearing at different times but not in pairs. That 'old faithful'
185.302 line is not there for some reason. First time I've observed late
April conditions. Hats off to Steve for this window into the ionoshperic
effects. We're supposed to see 30s tonight so it should be interesting. 80s
tomorrow!
