>Maybe a nice quiet 50x50 RX loop is in order for the Grabber?
If it aint broke don't fix it! Except for minor glitches Methinks Steve has
done exceptionally well with this antenna since its installation. Ask Larry
and some of the other guys in Steve's neck of the woods that try to compete.
Problems for big loop RX are:
1. They are directional but non-rotatable.
2. They need to be tuned and have a narrow bandwidth.
3. They tend to have poorer S/N than typical 6ft to 10ft loops when one has
multiple neighborhood noise sources (such as you and I have). With a smaller
loop you can be much more selective on the location that provides the least
noise.
4. Loop size (once >6ft) is usually of no advantage. Who needs more signal
once they see 2 uv or so at the noise floor?
