Don't forget the Q of the loop
multiplies the signal; IE: A loop with a Q of 200 has 200 times more
signal
compared to a non-tuned loop.
===============
does in deed But with my noise nearby it also raises the noise floor
as well. In using a tuned loop with ??? 2 Khz ??? peak the increase in
noise didnt gain me much. The shielded loop , non tuned , is doing a
better
job for me at this QTH. Appears to have as much s/n ratio and the ability
to hear
and is much lighter and EZer to rotate than the same size 25 turn loop.
Although I didnt try to balance the multi turn loop I know the shielded
loop
really nulls ,, the first such antenna that really does ,,well,, for me

And again this results is only app to me and at my location. Took a
smaller loop
to WA3USGs location and the E field always worked better at least as far
as he was
testing it. This loop was probably 1/4 the square footage as the big
one,,
the test wasnt fair at all but the loop did play OK at Dicks,, just not
quite as good
and he has a quieter location than I do as well

All this is fun to play with and results may vary
dont try it at home
