Transformer coupling to match the antennas impedance to the feedline. I
assume your final amp's filter is designed to step the output devices to
50-ohms.

Yeah -- they look like they were hot.  They are TO-39 cases (NTE128/129
pair) and I had written on the top with sharpie marker.  That ink is
mostly gone ... must have really been hot.

Had the antenna system tuned to resonance ... guess the SWR could still be
high?  What can I do about that?
