So what could I do with my aluminum plates and shafts as far as a braid
across the bearings???

Is it my imagination or did Bill say he was using a "butterfly"
capacitor with no sliding contacts? (May have gotten that from another
conversation..) Anyhow, the use of a flexible pigtail connection to
the rotating plates should eliminate effects of contact resistance and
the added inductance should be of no concern at lowfer frequencies.
