[Lowfer] Loop-D-Loop

Actually, Peter, I've always contended my 50/50 loops, 100% tree supported
OR in the open, (makes little difference) are about 6db inferior to a good
vertical installation in the open, away from trees. At least the mathematics
support this. So when Bill B. says he's 6 db down due to rain, he's no
probably no worse off than a 50/50 loop pointed right at the guy doing the
receiving.

Before I loose all my followers I'd have to point out there are about 6
major advantages for the loop. Top of the list of course is near freedom
from the effects of the trees in the deQing of the tuned LRC common to all
LF antennas. In my forest home this is a huge advantage. Second is ease of
installation (maybe 100 times less time and money than Bill put into his)
and third, resistance to the elements. Ease of tuning, stability of tuning,
and safety to personnel below, fill out the list.

Thanks for the 'soap box' opportunity! <GG>
