Therefore, why should someone call it "rediculous", thus making it a 
put-down to the majority of us that appreciate the benefits of an extra hour 
of light to work on outdoor activities (*antennas*, lawns, recreation, etc) 
after they get home from work?

Yes it is "bureacratic".  But I would call more like a 'good idea' that 
benefits the greater share of the population. The typical 'Liberal' veiw of 
this would be to eliminate daylight savings because 20% of the population 
doesn't want it.
