Hi, Peter,

This was in Indiana. The time was 5:51 EST (That's right -- Indiana is
not on daylight savings time, which is smart. Daylight Savings Time is
stupid. If I want to make better use of the daylight I'll get up earlier
-- you don't need to fool me with the clock. That's just stupid.)

Here is a snippet from his email describing the circumstances, his
receiver, and antenna:

> you are my first Hi FER ever received ,and it was totally by accident

> UR signal : 2 to 3 db out of the noise....reception for only 3 ID cycles,
> then total fade...suspect change of conditions nr local sundown time the
> culprit...

> RCVR: Kenwood R 1000

> now here's the kick: the antenna is an attic 20 m delta loop laying in a
> heap, at about 12 feet above ground....

I've since had another report from him, at 11:50 Indiana time yesterday
(10/2), and he copied HI after that.
