Interesting to hear that description - I have had the same thing happen
here.
It was definitely on frequency - audible - and tunable.
Sounded like raw ac or similar..... and I just assumed that I had some
radiator in the house - so proceeded to shut down each monitor / computer /
light dimmer / Tv, etc etc - and absolutely nothing happened.
Usually it's a monitor - but pulled the plug on everything.

I have not heard it for awhile ( happened about two-three weeks ago ) and
can't listen now that the 137 kHz rig is on the air.  But I heard it when
listening for VO1NA / XFX.   I might shut down for short listening periods
and see whether or not it occurs again. I can use the loop and determine
direction.
