Had a glorious time with Doppler shift last night when trying to do the
ARRL Frequency Measuring Test. I can usually copy W1AW on all bands, but
last night was an exception. 80 meters was good as always, but I never heard
them on 40. The signal was smeared over +/- 2 Hz on 20 meters, so I just
guessed at an average. 15 meters was a riot. I could HEAR the Doppler shift
on the rare pings of strong signal. The result was spread over at least +/-
5 Hz, and there was no concept of a center. The darn thing was even making
"WA"-style sloping lines on the screen!

Last year's test was fairly easy here. Too bad that this is now only an
annual activity.
