Laurence, I think the soil conductivity near the surface would definitely
become worse thereby allowing your ground radials to do their job more
effectively. The reduction of tree losses from the sap leaving the branches
with temps dropping below 10, or so, is a well documented effect. I measured
reductions in system resistance of up to 2.5X in the old days.
