[Lowfer] Beacon "USA" on with new and improved loop antenna Shamelessly soliciting signal reports

Hello Folks,

Beacon "USA" with an assigned carrier frequency now begins another broadcast
day.
Assigned?  Assigned by me.

A new antenna was erected this evening under the cover of darkness.
My son Steven (God bless him he has the patience of a saint) and myself
erect a new loop antenna.
Same location, same dimensions, different conductor.

The old conductor was rg59, the new conductor is made of 5/8" cooper tubing
from The Home Despot.
I will measure the current with a scope tomorrow, but the voltage from the
current transformer was greatly increased.

Resonating capacitance was also increased and best match to the feed
transformer was about double at 12 turns.

Jay of "Victor Delta"  did the calculations at his home QTH of before and
after....  10 DB improvement in signal.

This look is much higher "Q" aswell.  A bit difficut to tune with the mica
cap. I will change that to an air variable tomorrow as well.
