Okay, I'd like to see the info. Your earlier pic of the three soldered
rods had a copper cast but you said they were AL. Nice metal flow on the
rods. That's what I'd like to do for two lapped AL wires.
My interest now is to extend AL "ground wire" from RS. It only comes in
40-foot roles. One method I came up with last nite was to use a short
piece of CU tubing, about 1/4 X 3 inches. Place the AL into the tube and
dimple it to bind the AL wire. It makes a good mechanical joint. An
extender piece of CU wire can be soldered to the other end. Seems to
make a stable joint. A lap of tape will wx-proof it.
This is all for the new 3-wire flat top of lite AL tubing and wire.
