Hey Bill,
How about running one of those more precise 10.7mc oscillators instead of
the crystal? I have one here thanks to Stewart and could just offset the HF
rig to compensate for the additional 700kc.

Yah, the wait-and-see approach is probably a good idea. Good looking
construction for sure, but I'm concerned that even at QRSS30 the base line
will have a bad tilt. As we discussed this a couple of weeks ago, the
oscillator has to have incredible stability to be able to 'hold the line'
when the ratio of osc freq to sig freq is this large.
