Does this mean I should get off my behind and build my Hifer beacon that has
been sitting in the Digi Key box for about a year???

Congratulations all around.
Just as LowFERing is no longer a seasonal-only activity, perhaps we should
be thinking more progressively about the HiFER 'season' too. There were
excellent transatlantic openings throughout last fall and winter. And even
the recent turbulence has a silver lining. As Johan Bodin wrote to me last
week:
>>> BTW, why are the U.S. "Xfers" shutting down their Hifer transmitters now
that the Sun
is producing record breaking ionization levels? World-wide sub-milliwatt
"hifing"
would be really fun! >>>
Sure would.
